About

The flower of the Pichkari Tree is the first I ever painted as an applied textile art. It is an explosive flower grouping with fiery red and orange hues. It’s flower buds are used among children as a water squirter, and different parts of the tree boast the ability to be a food, an artistic material, a medicine as well as a poison. Like the versatility of this tree, my artistic endeavors go beyond computers and paint brushes, I share a passion for design and the use of material in everything I do.  I  had the pleasure of standing beneath the shade of this stately tree and it’s bright bursts many years later while in Caracas, Venezuela.

And so Pichkari Design was inspired.
